News from the group in Silencio!

The last few days in the village of Silencio have been busy as the group works towards their project goals. The leaders report that all the students have been hard at work mixing cement to finish the sidewalk around the local school and teaching English to the Tico children in the village. Each and every student has put in a tremendous amount of work and they are well on their way to completing some of their projects. Afternoons are spent playing soccer and volleyball together with Costa Rican friends.

Last night the leaders organized a salsa class with a local teacher. Putney students were paired with Costa Ricans who showed them the dance steps. It was a huge success! Today the group participated in a fundraiser for the local primary school. They are looking forward to the next few days as they continue to strengthen their bonds with the community.
